An island in the middle of the Paraná, 5 km from the Yacyretá hunting and fishing club, which is where the boat out to it leaves from. Cabins from two people, a campsite and day passes, with beach, dunes, grills, sports courts, wifi, a generator, toilets and a canteen selling drinks, ice and charcoal. The boat transfer runs both ways, life jackets included. They arrange fishing days out on the river with boat, guide and bait. Open all year, best from September to May. Prices are quoted per group: a day pass starts at Gs. 400,000 for four, camping at Gs. 650,000 for four, and the cabins run from Gs. 1,700,000 for four to Gs. 3,150,000 for twelve. Senatur certified.

Hotel and restaurant on the banks of the Paraná in Ayolas, with over twenty years hosting anglers: one of the most established fishing bases in Paraguay. It has 22 rooms. They fish from their own boats with 40 HP outboards, and the fishing spots are close to the hotel. Dorado, pacú, piapara and pintado. The fishing package covers a twin room with air conditioning, cable TV, wifi and a minibar, all three meals, the boat for two with a guide and a 40 HP outboard, the navigation permit, 30 litres of fuel, bait (four dozen worms and a bucket of corn per boat), a cool box with ice and drinks on board. Drinks at the hotel are included too, spirits aside, and back from fishing they serve a starter of fried fish with cassava. The package costs Gs. 1,200,000 per person per day, and bookings are made with a 30% deposit. The sizes they quote per species are 48 cm for pacú and piapara, 75 for dorado, 90 for pintado catfish and 85 for cachara. They also hire out a boat with a guide, separately from the package, at Gs. 700,000 a day, with fuel and bait charged on top. Open 24 hours. Ayolas's fishing club, on the Paraná. It runs the International Dorado and Mixed Species catch and release tournament, now in its 24th edition. The grounds have a campsite with power and toilets, grill huts, a boat ramp, CCTV and a shore fishing area for those who would rather not take a boat. Four rooms sleeping 18, all with air conditioning and wifi, two with private bathroom and TV. They rent boats with a fishing guide, fuel and bait. Best season September to February. The centre is open Monday to Saturday 8:30 to 11:30 and 13:30 to 16:30, Sundays and holidays from 8:30. By prior arrangement you can add the Atinguy Wildlife Refuge (8:00, 9:00, 10:30 and 13:00) and the Akuti Po'i trail in the Isla Yacyretá Reserve (8:30, book 24 h ahead).
