Boat hire with a local boatman in Concepción, for sport fishing and family outings. They leave from Concepción's old port, and also from Belén running down the Ypané river or from Paso Horqueta down the Aquidabán. There are three boatmen, so up to three boats can go out together: the 6-metre high-sided one takes up to 6 people with a 25 HP outboard, though 4 fish more comfortably, and there are two more boats with 40 HP engines, which cost the same and burn less fuel. The day costs Gs. 900,000 per boat, not per person, and includes the boatman, 25 litres of fuel and life jackets. Each extra day is Gs. 450,000. Bait, drinks and ice are extra. Fishing tackle is not included but they can provide it: Penn reels or simple handlines. Camping and a barbecue setup, optional. They also rent kayaks for outings on the Paraguay river and for two-day or longer trips down the Ypané and the Aquidabán, with a boatman: ask for the price on WhatsApp.
